The Court and Spark's first album 'Ventura Whites' is one of the great lost
classic albums. It's the best album Smog never made and then some. Anyway three
albums later we have an EP with 5 tracks that errs just slightly on the smooth
side of alt country but would definitely fit into the nu-folk James Yorkston and
Adem bracket. The second track 'Lucia' is the stand out, with gently picked
guitars and the gentle swelling of a lovely slide guitar laden chorus. Features
guest appearances from Linda Thompson and M Ward. Good but I liked them better
when they were a bit wierder. On Absolutely Kosher.
