7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 20th February 2015

After his debut, "Here Be Monsters" Ed Harcourt's albums seemed to slip under the radar which is a bit of a shame, really. Fortunately, his last couple of releases, "Back Into The Woods" and"Time Of Dust" have thrust him back into the discerning listener's consciousness. Albums like "Strangers", then, should be revisited. "Born In The '70s" is typical of his pop sensibilities whilst "This One's For You" plods along nicely in a style not dissimilar to Badly Drawn Boy. The title track is a nice ballad, punctuated with little stabs of electric piano. "Lonliness" is probably the standout track. It isn't as good as the albums that currently bookend his career, but certainly with giving a bit of time to, if only to pick out a few tracks.
