Blueberry Boat by The Fiery Furnaces

Back in the days when it was a proper print rag, you could always tell a good album by a 1 out of 10 score in NME. That judgement ensured I picked up Fiery Furnaces second LP which took the bluesy White Stripes rock of their debut and ran with it to the asylum taking in bits of Beefheart, Zappa and the Cardiacs along the way. It's bonkers but brilliant.

Here's a new Fiery Furnaces album called Blueberry Boat. Not got into these yet but the others here love em. I notice the NME gave this 1 out of 10 (a bit harsh maybe) but Mojo say 'one of the most spectacular musical creations of recent times' . So who to believe? I don't know and I can't really help. Its quite a strange sounding record.
