20th anniversary vinyl edition of the album that preceded their all time classic 'Nixon'. 'What Another Man Spills' consists mainly of Kurt Wagner originals but with a handful of covers most notably a couple by FM Cornog of East River Pipe. Now two decades on we get a remastered re-press with liner notes by Mr Wagner himself.

10/10 Richard Customer review, 3rd August 2018

2000's 'Nixon' was the album that made Lambchop, and for many is their greatest, but for me 1998's 'What Another Man Spills' was my first taste of Lambchop, and remains their most alluring record. Present is the soul flavour that they developed further on 'Nixon', but there is a very laidback feel to most of this LP, and with the current scorching weather in the UK it sounds just perfect still, 20 years on. The first three tracks are wonderful, and so soothing, with 'The Saturday Option' being the pick of the bunch. It may not scale the heights of side 1 thereafter, but tracks like 'N.O.' are perfectly delivered by Kurt Wagner and co. and when combined with the soul covers, including a brilliant 'Give Me Your Love (Love Song)' it's hard to beat, and I don't think Lambchop have done so since. Nice new reissue too, and I've just ordered the coloured LP so looking forward to that arriving any day now.
