I think that's it for Badly Drawn Boy. I mean where do you go after collaborating with Jools Holland? The only way is down. Its a sad fact that Mr Gough's music has gone from fantastically  inspired quirky pop to overproduced Beatles-esque stuff with "important" lyrics. He's overdosed on earnestness and now sounds more like David Brent than erm David ...er ...Bowie. He's obviously motherfunningly talented but its all just a bit too self important now. That's what puts me off. Anyway here's his new album. There's tunes a plenty - 14 tracks recorded in Stockport with Andy Votel but definitely not a return to his roots musically.
