Heroes To Zeroes by The Beta Band

With hindsight, Heroes To Zeroes by The Beta Band could be seen as their last attempt at hitting the big time, by their label, at least. The original recording of the album was rejected by the label who drafted in Radiohead super-producer, Nigel Godrich to mix the album. Ultimately, the band split up owing the label a wad of cash. This album is worth the admission price alone for opening track, Assessment.

I used to love The Beta Band. The 1st 3 Ep's were so fine..... Since then I've had a love/ hate affair with 'em. They haven't recreated the early magic as much as they used to.... there's the odd track here and there.... Anyhoo they have a new album out which undeniably sounds like 'em and it's a bit more polished than previous albums. I think it's gonna take more listens before I can decide properly if I like it or not.... Heroes To Zeroes is on 2LP and CD
