Mezzanine is a dark masterpiece, as black, as glossy and as intimidating as the beetle creature on its cover. Angel and Teardrop turn up on TV often enough (and rightly so), but the whole album is worth digging into for its uneasy moods. This hasn’t been available on record for a while, so Universal are bringing it back on suitably heavyweight vinyl.

10/10 Christian Portugal Customer review, 16th January 2015

This album is one of the best trip hop albums in history. It marked a new heavy, dark, psychedelic, witchcraft-oriented era within Massive Attack's history. In 1998 the absence of Tricky - the third member of the wild bunch - was evident. Around this time Daddy G and 3D found the support of new talent collaborating in an effort to fill that spot. The integration of Horace Andy and Liz Fraser's vocals was key in the success of this album. This LP was such a good hit, that fans were pressing unofficial copies until last year when Massive Attack decided to finally go for another re-release. This is musical perfection in every way, the sound is highly engineered to achieve such a dynamic range that takes you on a journey and brings you back on your feet (that is exactly how I feel with "Angel"). ENJOY!
