Hell is For Heroes' debut The Neon Handshake was a huge album when it came out in 2003 in the wake of other big anthemic rock albums from emerging bands such as Hundred Reasons' 2002 debut Ideas Above Our Station. Listening to The Neon Handshake with fresh ears in 2018 it hasn't quite aged as gracefully as they might have hoped. Some of the songs still stand up (see "Night Vision" for example), but unfortunately album closer "Retreat" is not one of them and doesn't quite have the ideas or riffs to linger long in the mind.
