Sleeping With Ghosts was Placebo’s massively-selling 2003 album. Full of all their usual angst (including big singles like ‘The Bitter End’ and ‘English Summer Rain’) it saw Brian Molko dissect relationships by way of nasal whine over their usual brand of emo guitar racket.

7/10 Jack 4th February 2016Sleeping with Ghosts is an album that almost could have been great. There are moments of musical and insightful genius there... and some of those moments last for entire tracks. Unfortunately, between these golden moments there is a lot of trite, boring, self indulgence. It's a hard album to slot into a genre as not only is there plenty of the Brit pop based sound we are used to hearing from Placebo but there is also an increasing move toward electronica. Ah well, even the weakest tracks have some sprinkling of genius. But it's just a glimmer.
