- Halber Mensch by Einsturzende Neubauten
9/10 Jack 26th June 2015
This is usually considered EN's masterpiece; I'd consider it as the first of Einsturzende's masterpieces; For the first time melodies emerge from that chaos of noise and screams though with shyness; This album is very direct and efficient in its intentions. Brimming with rhythms and layers of guitar, bass and just plain noise, this album showcases Bargeld's transition from avant-garde vocalist to singer, and the band's shift toward more structured songs. It also contains what should have been a massive hit, "Yu-Gung," and a whole bunch of other great stuff.
