Hood Compilations 1995-2002

The second of the CD collections of all the various bits of Wetherby's finest. This one collects all the tracks that appeared on split singles, compilations etc during their long history and remarkably despite it's diversity from lo-fi pop to electronics to rhythmic post rock the collection stands up pretty well as a standalone LP.

Old muckers of Stewart A, Leeds' very own Hood have two comprehensive retrospectives out on the burgeoning Misplaced Music of Pudsey, Leeds. The original shambling indie pioneers, these two fascinating CDs highlight how they've staggered from No-Fi indie racketeering ala Pavement/Dead C/Thinking Fellers to more subtle Anglo-folk inflected beauty later on. Gasp in wonder at the blossoming sensitivity & groundbreaking structures and more out there influences as the discs progress. The first, 'Singles Compiled' features a 2nd CD of mostly unreleased stuff as well as the impossible to find 7"s on Rocket Racer, Earworm & 555 on CD1.

The other CD compiles most of the tracks used on compilations from around the world so is absolutely indispensible to the hardened Hood fan (lots of you out there!) Both serve as an ideal accompaniment to the 'Structured Disasters' comp on Happy Go Lucky. Leeds' most enduring band methinks (longer serving than The Wedding Present even) and still endearingly young!)
