Jessica Bailiff by Jessica Bailiff

The underrated Jessica Bailiff dropped her eponymous third LP through Kranky back in 2002. Across the album Bailiff comes through with the sort of cosmic ambient folk/rock style that other artists have got way more credit for than she has. For instance - the collaborative Animal Collective/Vashti Bunyan EP Prospect Hummer came out three years after Jessica Bailiff, yet people only seem to remember the latter nowadays. Strange. Either way, this is a great record that deserves a second chance.

Jessica Bailiff is a lady. She's made a few albums before and is mates with Low. Her new album on Kranky is a lovely surprise. Its nice shimmery acoustic music thats somewhere between Low and Hope Sandoval. We like this a lot here......
