7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 23rd June 2015

"Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine" is a compilation of previously self-released material by Cosmic Rough Riders. It was released by Alan McGee's new Poptones label in 2000. It's full of melodic sunshine indie pop that has been influenced by psychedelic era Beatles - there's sitars all over the place - among other things. "Revolution (In The Summertime)" is probably the most memorable single that was released from it. "Baby You're So Free" is another catchy nugget. It veers a bit too close to some of the mid-late '90s Britpop bands like Cast in places for my liking. Overall it kind of sounds like 18 Wheeler or perhaps Teenage Fanclub but not quite as good.
