Invito Al Cielo By Sonic Youth and Jim O’Rourke is the third in a series of experimental albums by Sonic Youth released on their own SYR label. It was also the first time that the legendary New Yorkers would collaborate with O’Rourke. O’Rourke subsequently joined the band for their Murray Street album. The title is Esperanto and translates as An Invitation to Heaven.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 18th February 2017
This album is worth hearing for Kim Gordon's trumpet playing alone; like her vocals it's calm, world-weary and quietly amused. Jim O'Rourke also plays on the record, and his presence lends it a few more non-guitar sounds than are heard on other early Sonic Youth records - and with that a bit less guitar sound - but especially on the third track the electronics blend wonderfully with what the other Sonics are doing. Note: this isn't really a pop record, and if you expect it to be you'll probably be disappointed.
