9/10 Vinyl Lobster Customer review, 17th March 2016Fugazi's sixth and, in all likelihood, final album is definitely something a bit different. Fans might mourn the lack of the shoutalong choruses they enjoyed on Repeater and the band's earlier releases, replaced by a slower, moodier, almost krautrock sounds on tracks like 'Strangelight' and 'The Kill', but it's an album that definitely deserves several listens before you make your mind up. The best tracks are 'Epic Problem' and 'Nightshop', with their driving, grinding guitars. The songs simmer, starting off quiet and gentle but carrying a real threat of exploding, which they never fail to do with Ian MacKaye's punchy vocals. If it is to be their last album, it's a fine finish, and an album that in itself seems to have inspired some exciting modern bands like TRAAMS.
