8/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 20th February 2015

As Neu did with their first album, “Neu! 2” opens with a typically lengthy, energetic Krautrock staple, “Fur Immer”, again this is followed by soundscapes and unsettling noises, less Pink Floyd-ish this time. “Lila Engel” takes the Neu! Krautrock sound and distorts it, making an almost goth sounding piece. “Neuschnee” is more classic Krautrock, prior to it’s appearance on the album however, is “Neuschnee 78” which is the same track played at 78 rpm. A trick they repeat with “Super 16”, played at 16 rpm and “Super 78” again played at 78 rpm. The atmospherics on here are less ethereal, more scary than on “Neu!” and it marks a progression in their sound and experimentation.
