8/10 Jack Customer review, 26th September 2015

Bright Eyes first album is pretty much exactly what you expect. Which for me is a great thing. Oberst has always been great at letting the emotion of his songs envelop him, strongly affecting his vocal delivery specifically. Letting Off the Happiness possesses the variety of follow up Fevers and Mirrors and the cohesion of the classic I'm Wide Awake It's Morning - but is generally rougher around the edges. Great dynamics make up this album from the lethargically heavy "Pull My Hair" to the delicately beautiful "Tereza And Tomas." I love it.
