Common Sense by John Prine

Produced by Booker T. & The M.G.’s guitarist Steve Cropper, rather than Arif Mardin who had helmed his previous efforts, 1975’s ‘Common Sense’ was the fourth album from country/folk icon John Prine, and his last before his move from Atlantic to Asylum. It saw a subtle but significant shift in Prine’s sound, towards a sound we’d now describe as alt-country.
