The Phantom by Duke Pearson

Jazz pianist, composer and arranger Duke Pearson was said to have heavily influenced the hard-bop direction that Blue Note took in the 1960s. 'The Phantom' was originally released in 1968, and on the record Pearson was backed by a stellar cast of musicians - Bobby Hutcherson on vibraphone, Jerry Dodgion on flute, Sam Brown and Al Gafa both played guitar, Bob Cranshaw on bass with Mickey Roker, Victor Pantojo and 'Potato' Valdes playing drums and congas. 'The Phantom's epic title track is one of the coolest jazz grooves you’ll ever hear.
