Flail is the second album from Brooklyn duo Wetware following on from their 2018 debut Automatic Drawing. It presents eleven new tracks which show a darker and more disorientating sound taking influence from No Wave and early Industrial Music. Indeed, Flail is informed by the music of a wide range of uncompromising artists from Throbbing Gristle to Puce Mary.

Oh man, I feel like this record has somehow infected me. Every time I listen to it I feel soiled and need to take a bath in bleach. If you thought the recent (most excellent) ADULT. album DAIS released was bleak and suffocating, honestly, this Wetware record makes that sound like Yazoo or something. Arghhh!!! Like WTF… The opening intro track ‘Car Dancer’ is like a roller coaster winding up but facing downwards straight to HELL... and then blast… into the underworld we descend to be permanently tormented for the rest of eternity. This is ugly, panic attack inducing, bad drugs No Wave Power Electronics. Intense, paranoid, visceral sound that leaves a grimy detritus in its wake. Sounds like it crawled outta the Brooklyn sewers. Imagine Lydia Lunch woulda fronted Whitehouse instead of Teenage Jesus & The Jerks. In other words, it’s pretty awesome.
