Roots From The Congo by Lee "Scratch" Perry with Seke Molenga & Kalo Kawongolo could have been a very different affair. Molenga & Kawongolo were two Congalese musicians who had travelled to Jamaica with a band assembled by French producer Bernadette Duget. After failing to recorded a rock album as intended, the project was deemed a failure. Molenga & Kawongolo stayed on and worked Perry eventually turning out a classic reggae record. Originally released in 1979 and re-released in 1991, it remains a much sought after piece o’ wax, but look, Roots Vibration have reissued it again!
