Meandyou co-founder Herron switches up his sound from a more traditional straight-up techno mode on an invigorating, refreshing EP for Peder Mannerfelt's label. On 'Billy's Walk Home', punchy, fractured rhythms get tangled up in wooshing, fizzing and sizzling electronics with complementary deep sub vibrations. 'Throwing Mud' gets grubbier - it's percussion dragging and scraping across the floor before getting a boost from a twanging bassline and cracking icy sounds which are then melted by a yearning synth beaming in radiance like a rising sun. Electro/techno hybrid 'Losing Spirit' weaves gnawing on rubber acid around an itchy, morphing groove. 'United Walls' takes a gloomy swerve into some futuristic, blackened, introspective, pulsing downer techno. Peder Mannerfelt gives it a shot of adrenalin for the dancers on his remix, but I prefer to skulk in the corner to the OG, miserable bastard that I am. Quality tackle.
