Visons / Count In Threes is a split 12” by enigmatic North Wales psych band The Cult Of Free Love and Chelmsford band Magic Seas. The Cult Of Free love are thought to be made up from members of The Northern Star Collective but remain tight-lipped on who their members actually are. Magic Seas were lucky enough to get their contribution to this record produced by Mark Gardener of Ride.

This is a very interesting record. Two very different sides of the same coin here - The Cult of Free Love's Yin to The Magic Sea's Yang. 'Visions' by CoFL is a dark psychedelic electronic piece which reminds me of a cross between Primal Scream and Depeche Mode and wouldn't sound out of place on Mute or Warp. 'Substance' sounds like it should be on the soundtrack to Stranger Things. The Magic Seas' side delivers a nice line in dreamy psychedelic pop. 'Count In Threes' sounds like the greatest single by Ride that never was, which is eerie as Mark Gardener has recorded and produced both tracks
This is the first release on a brand new label, I can't find any online information about the label at all. Both bands are from different ends of the country - North Wales and Chelmsford respectively. God only knows what forces conspired to bring these 2 acts together, but it works and what's more its a fantastic introduction to both bands. I'm looking forward to seeing what they both bring next!
