The prolific MMMΔ (also referred to as ‘MMMD’) deliver their 11th album of original material in little over a decade. Emerging soon after their soundtrack for Lukas Feigelfeld’s horror movie Hagazussa, Egoismo is as challenging and bizarre as ever, a mixture of spooky chanting and spine-tingling strings.

‘Egoismo’ is the eleventh album from Greek chamber doom duo MMMΔ  aka MMMD fka Mohammad. They continue to pursue their path to harmony through sound here with six mystical drone works, seemingly emanating from the shadows. Theirs is a unique sound that seems as though it draws from various ancient traditions and cultures but can’t be identified - it’s as if they’ve created their own mysterious world - invented their own history, ceremonies and rituals. Their strings are as evocative as ever, moving from dirge-like doom to subtly ecstatic, transcendent passages. Kinda feels like we’ve stumbled upon ancient buried recordings from a lost civilization and its sacred sounds. There’s something very powerful and spiritual about this record - particularly during the vocal incantation moments I can’t help but imagine I’m inside a huge holy building and these sounds are attempting to reach or are channelling higher forces. After working together for around ten years, these guys have really honed a unique sound which at this point they really seem to have perfected.
