Wee Scottish indie-pop sensations Spinning Coin return with their first new music since 2017s well regarded 'Permo' LP. Again being released by the Pastels Geographic imprint, this first taster has been co-produced by the Peter Pan of indie-pop himself Stephen Pastel. Surely one of the best of the new indie-pop lot this will appeal to fans of Teenage Fanclub, Orange Juice and Josef K.

'Visions at the Stars' is the new single from Scottish jangle boys Spinning Coin. The song trips along on a strangely syncopated, off-kilter rhythm that's bolstered by some backing vocals reminiscent of Supergrass at their most whimsical. Lyrically, 'Visions at the Stars' deals with themes of loneliness and isolation. This band are certainly in capable hands, with the 7" version of this song being released on the Pastels' imprint Geographic. They continue a rich tradition of great jangle/indie pop from Scotland, with 'Visions at the Stars' bearing similarity to groups like Orange Juice and the Fire Engines.
Spinning Coin have taken a pretty stale indie-pop format and updated it with some jazz swagger and a languid attitude.
