'Mad As A Cut Snake' by Mickey Cox is for anyone who likes their beats copper-bottomed and their bass chewy. Be warned, this techno music is not for the faint of heart. It requires a strong constitution and an even stronger soundsystem. 'Mad As A Cut Snake' is the real deal. If you feel up to the test, however, it's out on Riot Radio Records and is accompanied by a few superb remixes from AyacarnaMyler, and Ansome

Mad As A Cut Snake? Sounds about right for this absolute kicker of a double-pack on RIOT Radio Records from Australian producer Mickey Nox.

From the off, this is ferocious techno, getting straight to business with the thundering ‘RIOT Shield’ and does not let up whatsoever. Fans of 100% pure hard as nails tackle are in for a glorious battering with these five cuts, plus fierce remixes from Ayarcana, Myler and Ansome.

Even your seasoned hard techno fiend/up for it dancers will be devoured by these tracks as they come out of the speakers like a juggernaut - splattering a sweaty dancefloor into total oblivion. Nox tweaks his sounds for maximum impact and they hit HARD. Like, where did he find those kick drums? Actual HELL?!?!?

It doesn't matter where you drop the needle, this is a total mind cracker. A relentless storm of aggressive, tough, brutal, driving, energising sound that’s like a hyperspace blast through a meteor shower. I feel like I’ve lost a stone in weight just thinking about raving to these tracks.

The remixes are intense to say the least; the Ayarcana remix of ‘Riot Shield’ would make Ancient Methods blush, the Myler remix of ‘Zurich Exchange’ is like a shot of pure adrenaline and Ansome properly slays it with his filthy, pummeling mix of ‘Paranoid Empire’.

Jeez, I think I need to go and have a lie-down. Limited edition of 250 copies, mastered by Joe Farr.
