One of the most iconic figures in alternative music history, Alex Chilton entered a Memphis studio in 1969 between the demise of the Box Tops and the beginnings of his legendary band Big Star to lay down a number of demos. Two intimate songs that never made it to the tracklisting of 2012’s posthumous compilation Free Again, the affecting ‘It Isn’t Always That Easy’ and the starry-eyed ‘If You Would Marry Me Baby’ are presented here on a beautiful 7” single.
