Folkal Point by Folkal Point

Real gem of a reissue from the Beatball label here. Folkal Point were a group of pals who performed folk songs - both traditional British and newer compositions by U.S. artists like Baez and Dylan - around Bristol in the early 70s. A few hundred copies of their eponymous debut LP were pressed up in 1972, but due to poor promotion and their label warehouse both flooding and burning down they weren’t really able to get the word out. Nevertheless the few surviving copies of Folkal Point have passed into legend, with original pressings now fetching several thousand pounds whenever they’re at auction. Beatball’s far more affordable edition includes photos and info about the original cast list.
