Oh right, we get it. Mercury as in space, the place that David Bowie loved more than any other place. Not mercury as in the element. Anyway, The ‘Mercury’ Demos follows on from recent posthumous Bowie bonanzas Spying Through A Keyhole and the Clareville Grove Demos. All of the cuts on Mercury were captured, with the assistance of John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson, on a reel-to-reel in Bowie’s flat in 1969. It sounds like … well, it sounds like David Bowie around the time of ‘Space Oddity’. Which is what it is. Comes with goodies aplenty.
