Affiliate of Bristol collective Young Echo, Sam Kidel has become known for his sense of pranksterism. His 2016 project ‘Disruptive Muzak’ saw the artist play a strange brand of elevator music down the phone to people in call centres, and then record their perplexed reactions. His new record ‘Silicon Ear’, seems to continue this brand of subversive commentary, with the track titles ‘Live @ Google Data Center’ and ‘Voice Recognition DoS attack’.
