In 2017, Rhode Island rock/folk/rock/country/rock band Deer Tick released two compilation albums, Vol.1 and Vol.2. Now they’re giving us Mayonnaise, which is a close relative, containing alternative versions of songs first released on the two volumes. What I want to know, however, is why did they call this Mayonnaise when the first two had such prosaic names? Surely Mayonnaise should be called Vol.1 & 2 v2.0, shouldn’t it?
