In case anyone was wondering, this is a group not a man (like a Swiss version of Danny Wilson I guess). They play the sort of mixture of pulsing kraut inspired electronics and wild psych moves that you will enjoy if you like people like Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Cavern of Anti Matter. They throw a few dance moves and mutant funk in too. Let's kraut boogie.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 23 October 2018

I don't think I've heard a record sound quite as much like Metronomy for awhile (except perhaps the last Metronomy album). If it weren't for the obviously German language vocals I'd have said this was Metronomy particularly on opener 'Discogedanken' where the bass line emulates the exact one on 'We Broke Free' on their 'The English Riviera'. The funky bass line on 'Ja!' is the exact one on Metronomy's 'The Bay' from 'The English Riviera'. So with those bass-lines, synth work we have something here that could be titled 'The German Riviera'.

Because it sounds so much like Metronomy I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Ok so it's not song for song 'The English Riviera' by Metronomy...there are some differences  - the vocals is an obvious one and they have a much more synth vibe going on with squelchy keyboard work throughout and no sign of the spangly guitars Metronomy use, instead we get kraut kind of guitars on the short (and great) instrumental 'Sintermal 1'. There's a dancefloor vibe to the pulsing 'Von Gerstern' which reminds me of Metronomy's 2008 album 'Nights Out' but the band are better in my view when they stick to 'The English Riviera' template on the softer 'Watte in meinem Kopf'.

It's all in German language so you're not going to be able to get down with what they say unless you are a native speaker but anyway the tunes are decent, mostly because they are familiar for having appeared on various Metronomy albums over the years.
