The high tide of psychedelic music may have happened some two years previously, but by 1969 the scene had become more fragmented: either chart-orientated, manufactured 'bubblegum' pop or it had mutated into heavier, 'serious' rock. The British wave incorporated more eclectic sounds, so 'Sunshine' Psych was born, as heard on new Grapefruit compilation Try A Little Sunshine - The British Psychedelic Sounds of 1969, encompassing 4 hours of tunes from a diverse, colourful and eventful decade end.
