Hull’s Liam van Ryn drops his debut EP via the newly-minted Foreign Entertainment imprint. While van Ryn may be a graduate of Gilles Peterson’s ‘Future Bubblers’ project, the four cuts on Serendipity are not the sort of thing you’d expect to crop up on a Brownswood compilation. The likes of ‘Accident In Saga City’ and the title track are widescreen electronica that wouldn’t sound out of place on Kompakt, while ‘Pitch1’ could pass for Panda Bear. Tessela and Lanark Artefax are known to be fans.
