Reissue of a golden-era disco rarity here. Original copies of ‘This Ain’t Really love’ trade for big bucks in the second-hand game, but now the tune’s available for a fraction of the price courtesy of Kalita Records. After scoring hits as early as 1957 under the name The Bobbettes, this Harlem girl-group switched things up with the disco boom of the mid-70s. Changing their name to The Sophisticated Ladies, the troupe cut this fabulously sassy piece of NYC disco in 1980. It comes backed with a Mighty Zaf edit of the band’s 1977 cover of Bobby Womack’s ‘Check It Out’.
