Hell yeah bilingual rock music! Average Sex are a London based five-piece whose songs are sung in French and English. On Melodie EP, their second, they rock hard and melodious. Their riffs are as catchy as their choruses, and all four songs have energy in spades. Released and produced by perpetual indie lad Tim Burgess.

Tim Burgess's attempts to take over the entire music industry continue with these young pups. “They have the pop sensibilities and the hooks and melodies that never leave your head”, he claims. Well, yes I suppose. It's pretty perky with something of the early vibrant the Strokes in lead track 'Melodie' which is the pick of the bunch with it's sinewy, twisting guitars and gobby attitude inflected vocals. It's 90s indie disco stuff - perfect Lamacq fodder. Sounds like the sort of thing you'd have got on Fierce Panda or Infectious in 1995. No brain cells needed to dissect what they are trying to say. Just moshpit friendly dirty pop music.
