I see what they are doing here. Looks like Orchards are one of those clever, clever pop bands like Everything Everything, Foals or Dutch Uncles injecting complexity and math rock into stadium leaning indie tunes. The Brighton quartet are aiming for the stars here and this could be the latest thing the kids sing along to in mosh pits.

It's not Orchards fault I'm a grump. The group make MASSIVE singalong indie with enormous stadium flag waving choruses on opener 'Love You 2' somewhere near Foals and Arcade Fire playing to the entirety of planet earth. Much is made in the press release of the band's math rock pedigree but they use all the twisty turny things they've learned to make enormous music that is rattling windows on nearby greenhouses. Their intricate guitar stuff is rather impressive but singer Lucy Evers belts them out in the manner of the one from Paramore and it's all too much for me.
But here is where I feel like the guy off the kit kat advert. They can sing, they can play, I fucking hate it but I can imaging this vibrant constructed and at times very catchy rock music going very far.
