Some very hippity sort of hop from Blockhead here. The NYC producer is one of those beatmakers who may never have heard any music 1) while not stoned and 2) that was made after 2004. As with last year's plunderphonics opus Funeral Balloons, new LP The Art Of The Sample is full of crisp funk and soul instrumentals all dolled up with boom-bap drum tracks. Somewhere in Manhattan Dangermouse, MF Doom and RZA are clinking glasses.
