Principe (DJ Marfox, DJ Nigga Fox) return with their deepest release yet. DJ Lilocox has patiently waited his turn to drop on the Lisbon imprint, and he seizes the moment with this impressive five-track EP. Of course the core genre of Paz & Amor is the label’s signature Batida style, but there is also a stronger influence from the worlds of deep and Balearic house here than we have previously heard.

If you’re looking to get a party started or just keep one going for that matter, you pretty much can’t go wrong with records on Príncipe. There’s surely something in the water in Lisbon and DJ Lilocox seems to have been guzzling it. ‘Paz & Amor’ comprises five cuts of expertly tooled Batida that just begs to be cranked up outdoors under the light of a setting sun. There’s a real universal appeal to these tracks with a total carnival vibe that has elements of Kuduro, UK funky etc. I can imagine them being spun by big-name DJs in Ibiza or equally in some little underground backwoods party. First tune ‘Vozes Ricas’ is probably my fave track on the record - a real peach with hypnotic percussion and subtle vocal samples that seem to morph into ethereal melodies. 'Fronteiras' you could pretty much slip neatly into any high-quality deep house set and spice it up.
