Lazy Tapes is a young imprint - the only previous drop from the label had been two collaborative tapes between label boss Cera Khin and first Ossia, then Christoph De Babalon - but they may have put themselves on the map with this one. The clown prince of modern techno Peder Mannerfelt takes us on a ‘power ambient’ trip here, showing his range over the three tracks of The Screws That Hold The World Together. ‘Shining Beacons Of Light’ and ‘Every Day Had A Number’ throw together influences from hard techno, hardcore, jungle, breaks and gabber, while ‘The Toad’ is a welcoming synth ambience.
