Huerco S.’s fledgling West Mineral imprint drops the second release from mysterious uon (also known as DJ Paradise and Caveman LSD). Untitled contains three tracks of trippy ambience, though each varies in tone. A-side ‘Solaris’ is a lovely aquatic synth ambience that brings to mind some of S.’s own ambient takes.

8/10 Ant Staff review, 16 May 2018

The second record on Brian Leeds’ (Huerco S.) West Mineral Ltd. imprint comes from uon, real name Ryan Fall aka Caveman LSD and DJ Paradise. The seventeen minute ‘Solaris’ is a swim in an infinite ocean - all watery, fluid ambient bliss. Basically, we’re talking ambient-dub-techno sorta ultra-chilled vibe, along the lines of Stephen Hitchell’s Variant gear. Things get all floaty, and silvery over on the flipside with the sparse percussion of ‘J’ shimmering and dissolving. ‘Bus’ is as though time temporarily stopped while fully submerged - the sound of halting objects heard beneath the surface and pleasurably rippling into the ears.

If you’d have told me this record was a new thing from the echospace [detroit] camp, or indeed some long lost Chain Reaction archival find, I’d have no reason to call you a liar. This one’s been melting me for that past week - to the point that my current physical state has been reduced to a pool of pink gooey liquid.
