Despite Soundhog spending over a decade away before the release of this single, it finds the bastard popster in typically cheeky form. ‘Astrablast’ is Glitterbeat as imagined by a member of the Central Processing Unit family, while ‘Newtown Parkway’ could have soundtracked something off public access television back in the day. It all makes you wonder what Late Of The Pier might be getting up now to if their drummer hadn’t passed away.

10/10 Steve from The Wrong Weekend Customer review, 11th May 2018

Ah, now this is a little belter of a single - and contrary to the Normans intro to the performer spiel, nothing to do with bootlegs and whatnot. An electronic item that starts out simple and ends up just flat out magnificent, building throughout, adding elements as it goes to finish in a place that will - I guarantee - be an earworm for days. It sounds as if it could have been commissioned for a TV presentation originally (remember the holding music before the schools programmes came on?) but the composer thought "nah, too easy" and went way beyond the bounds of the job spec and turned out this instead, just because. (I don't think Soundhog would want to be compared to Delia Derbyshire though, for his own modesty. She tended to that as well.) It's absolutely lovely and - for once, most reviewers are overly effusive - I think genuinely deserves the 10/10 review I've given it.

It comes with a super video as well that's basically an investigation into analog video feedback loops (so an inadvertent Dr Who opening titles/Derbyshire reference there too), and with the single it works perfectly. Watch it (Normans has a link to it) and then hit the 'buy' button. It'll be worth it. Then watch the video again while you wait for it to arrive.
