Reinforced doominations from Witchsorrow see them go harder and heavier than usual, seemingly wanting to block off the easy routes and access points one might usually find. Hexenhammer is a declaration of the band's favourite genre hallmarks and was recorded with metal overlord Chris Fielding, who's helped out folk metal band Primordial and stoner legends Electric Wizard.

8/10 Doomster Customer review, 30th May 2018Farnborough - a place that apparently makes people wish for the end times. Local residents Witchsorrow have been trying to summon some kind of natural disaster to wipe mankind from the earth for at least three albums so far, particularly on the 2015 record No Light, Only Fire, and on fourth album Hexenhammer they continue the theme but with more witchy stuff thrown in too. Musically the band share a lot with fellow traditional doom rockers and former label mates Cathedral and Electric Wizard, but there's something about the plucky Witchsorrow that makes me like them more than those other guys. I think it comes down to the fact that they sound like they're having fun on Hexenhammer and clearly love all things metal - just listen to "The Devil's Throne" and try not to pump your fists and throw up the devil horns. It can't be done. It's not revolutionary by any means but it rips so fuck it.
