The ominously named Port Sulphur turns out to be a collective collaboration that involves members of Orange Juice, Fire Engines, The Pop Group, Subway Sect and a stack of Glasgow musicians, not to mention Alan Vega(!) in places. Marshalled together by Douglas MacIntyre, these guys have produced a remarkably cohesive alt-indie-pop record in the form of Paranoiac Critical. Released on Creeping Bent.
