The Blue Notebooks is Max Richter’s Iraq war protest album. He began writing the album in 2003 when tensions were rising - and boiling over - in the country. Along with Richter’s beautiful compositions, the album features passages from Franz Kafka’s Blue Octavo Notebooks and Polish writer Czeslaw Milosz’s Hymn Of The Pearl and Unattainable Earth read by actor Tilda Swinton. Limited edition blue coloured vinyl 2LP on Deutsche Grammophon. Comes in a stickered PVC sleeve - note the stickering may look torn or cut - this is intentional as each copy is unique.
