Though he may be better known in recent years for being sampled by DJ Khaled and Soulja Boy as well as having one of his pieces used to soundtrack a scene in The Big Lebowski, Italian composer Piero Piccioni had a long and distinguished career as a film composer. Al Cinema Con Piero Piccioni, originally released by RCA in 1968 and now back in print thanks to Sonor Music Editions, is a collection of movie themes that serves as a neat introduction to a body of work that spans over 300 film scores. With a stronger penchant jazz and big band than contemporaries like Ennio Morricone, these are prime examples of mid-20th Century Library Music.
