In the press release for Scratching The Door: The First Recordings of The Flaming Lips, it credits them with two decades of musical boundary pushing, it’s nearer four decades, not that I wish to be pedantic, but credit where credit’s due, right? Anyway, this is exactly what it says it is, recordings from the earliest days (1983) of the Oklahoma experimental rockers. So early in fact that it's Mark Coyne and not his brother Wayne on lead vocal duties. Remastered by Dave Fridmann with help from Wayne Coyne and Michael Ivins. CD on Warner Bros.
