Lullabies For Insomniacs (Sugai Ken, Million Brazilians) presents a collection of legacy recordings by multi-instrumentalist/composer/general sonic badman Dino J. A. Deane. The ten pieces here were composed in the 90s as accompanying music to choreographs by dancer Colleen Mulvihill. The broad range of textures and techniques on display here makes For Leena a difficult one to quantify, but comparisons include David Byrne’s The Catherine Wheel, Arthur Russell’s freeform compositions and that point where free jazz met New-Age spiritualism.
