Dubkasm hosts this intercontinental get-together between British vocalist Rider Shafique, Norwegian bassist Bajan Steppa and (on remix duties) the legendary Guyanese dubmaster Mad Professor. ‘Enter The Gates’ is a smoky, strong dub-poetry track in the vein of Linton Kwesi-Johnson and King Midas Sound. Comes with the instrumental, a 'discomix' and Mad Professor's aforementioned re-rub.

We were listening to this in the office yesterday and immediately the whole place became more relaxed, more chilled and somehow the room became smokier. You should hear the bassline on this - imagine this pumping out of Potternewton Park on an August Bank Holiday? Well I can, it's classy stuff - beautifully laid back with the silky tones of vocalist Rider Shafique (Young Echo) gliding over some gorgeous dubbed out reggae. The key is its simplicity - just drums, bass, nicely played keyboards and those beautiful dub effects. There's the most gorgeous breakdown half way through when strips it back to that bass only, and slowly bringing elements back in. I could actually listen to this all day. The only weird bit is a Peter Frampton style vocoder towards the end of the track but even that is heavily dubbed. Just imagine .....Frampton Comes Alive In Dub.
Overleaf there are a couple of re-works including a severely blissed-out Mad Professor take. Magnificent.
