The second of two cassette volumes capturing 1920s and 30s examples of the Greek rebetiko music. This style can be considered as analogous to the country blues that was being recorded across the Atlantic at the time, boasting some of the same elements - solo performance, virtuoso fingerpicking and gruff vocals. However the melodic content is quite different, representing a fusion of various Greek folk styles and Ottoman art music. Super deep and intriguing listening.
